Court Rustemeyer
Educator, Explorer, and Speaker

Court Rustemeyer is an accomplished outdoor educator, presenter, and consultant dedicated to inspiring deeper connections with nature through experiential learning. With nearly 20 years of experience, Court blends adventure-based education with practical strategies to empower educators, students, and organizations to lead with purpose and embrace the power of the outdoors.

Court is also the best-selling author of Mentorship in the Wild, a field guide for educators and leaders seeking to build mentorship, curiosity, and meaningful adventure into their work with young people.

As a dynamic speaker and workshop facilitator, Court has delivered engaging presentations and hands-on sessions at national conferences, including PHE Canada, the Alberta Teachers’ Association, and the Outdoor Learning Conference. His interactive approach leaves audiences energized and equipped with actionable tools to integrate outdoor education, leadership, and resilience into their own contexts.

Beyond the stage, Court serves as President of the Global, Environmental, and Outdoor Education Council (GEOEC) and Director of the Prairies for the Outdoor Council of Canada (OCC). He provides mentorship through the Outdoor Learning Mentorship Program with Take Me Outside, guiding educators to elevate their practice and inspire the next generation of environmental stewards.

Court’s mission is simple: to help others harness the power of nature to build strong leaders, foster a sense of responsibility for the planet, and create meaningful learning experiences. Whether leading backcountry expeditions, delivering transformative workshops, or consulting with organizations, Court brings passion, expertise, and a deep commitment to making a lasting impact.

In 2025, Court was selected as a National Geographic Grosvenor Teacher Fellow, traveling to Antarctica aboard the National Geographic Endurance with Lindblad Expeditions. During this expedition he explored some of the most remote ecosystems on Earth, witnessing firsthand the power and fragility of our planet’s polar environments. The experience now informs his storytelling, presentations, and educational work, bringing real-world exploration, science, and environmental stewardship directly into classrooms, conferences, and communities.

“There’s a unique power in sharing space with passionate leaders—it’s where ideas spark, inspiration flows, and together we create student-led opportunities that ripple across classrooms and communities around the world.”
