The Story of Fire and Ice

In the summer of 2026, I had the incredible opportunity to explore the rugged coastlines of Iceland and the remote fjords of East Greenland aboard a National Geographic–Lindblad Expeditions voyage. From towering waterfalls and volcanic landscapes to drifting icebergs, Arctic wildlife, and communities shaped by the North, every day offered a new perspective on our remarkable planet.

This StoryMap brings together photographs, reflections, and stories from the expedition, capturing not only the places we visited, but also the moments of curiosity, wonder, and connection that made the journey unforgettable. I hope it inspires you to slow down, explore more deeply, and discover the extraordinary places that still exist at the edge of our world.

Stay tuned for the full interactive StoryMap will be available soon, where you’ll be able to follow the journey day by day through maps, photos, and stories from Iceland and Greenland.
