FREE 15-MINUTE TALK FOR TEACHERS
A Familiar Place is NOT a Lesser
Field Trip.
Watch Out the Door, a free talk on a calm first month of outdoor learning.
One class, four weeks, and the place you already have.
I've stood in Antarctica. Most of what I actually teach happens a few minutes' walk from my school door.
A lot of teachers are waiting for a mountain. The right trip, the right gear, a free week that never comes. But distance isn't what makes outdoor learning work. Coming back to the same place is.
In this talk I walk one class through its first month outside, one week at a time. It's about fifteen minutes, and it works just as well as audio, so you can listen on the drive in.
What's in it?
Why the closest place to your school is often the best one
A calm first month outside, week by week
What changes in students when they're trusted outside
One small thing to try with your class this week
Made for the teacher who keeps meaning to go outside
You don't need an outdoor ed background, a budget, or a bus.
If you've been meaning to take your class out and haven't found the starting point, this is it. It assumes a school field, a park you can walk to, and a class you're still getting to know.
If this becomes something you want to build into how your school teaches, I run workshops on exactly that.
Enter your name and email below and I'll take you straight to Out the Door. I'll also email you the link so you can come back to it.
You’ll also join a small list of educators and leaders getting practical teaching tools, occasional stories, and early access to new courses.
Where's the closest place your class could walk to this week?
